Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God. In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother. Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?
Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life. Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin. And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever. Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.” For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. — John 3:6, 1 John 3:9-10, 7, 2 Corinthians 6:14, John 8:12, 8:34-36, 1 John 3:8, 2 Corinthians 5:17
